How We Got Started
The idea for Fitted Tot came to Ashley Bosch when she couldn’t find a service for baby clothes that met her needs. She had subscribed to clothing subscriptions while she attended law school and loved the convenience and variety they provided. She had finished one and a half years at DePaul College of Law in Chicago when she found out she was pregnant. Putting school on hold she moved home to Michigan with John, her now husband, to start their family.
As a busy new mom shopping online and going to stores in search of quality, on trend baby clothing was very time consuming often resulting in her baby being dressed in the same ol’, same ol’ from the big stores. Ashley really wanted to support smaller businesses and thought, “Why can’t we bring the boutique shopping experience to moms at home and give them an easy way to be introduced to boutique baby and kids brands?” And they did just that.
Where We Are Now & Our Plans
The company was started in their small finished basement with one washer and dryer and a small inventory purchased from local and online resale shops to fill orders for pre-subscribers. As inventory began to fill up racks, and racks began to fill up the basement, Fitted Tot was forced to move it's operations from their home to a commercial facility.
As Fitted Tot continues to grow, John and Ashley plan to open more distribution centers on the west coast and Southern United States. The distribution centers will reduce delivery time and increase service levels to customers in those areas.
